A group of conscientious citizens have been praised on social media in the US after getting out of their vehicles to help a woman who suddenly lost consciousness at the wheel and her car skidded out of control.

The serious episode happened last month at a busy intersection near Boynton Beach, Florida.

Video footage was recently released by Boynton Beach police showing the black vehicle moving the tree in the middle of the intersection.

Several people get out of their vehicles to alert the driver but she does not respond. Then a woman takes an iron from her car and with a man breaks the window of the vehicle, explained the police.

The woman, later identified by CBS12 News as Laurie Rabyor, said she had heart and blood pressure problems. She said she had tried to stop at the gas station but had begun to pass out until she didn’t wake up until the next day.

The first person to raise the alarm was a woman who was driving alongside her, who is seen in the video running in alarm. The video has been appreciated as an inspiration of unity among the residents.

Laurie Rabyor said she had heart and blood pressure problems. She said she had tried to stop at the gas station but had started to faint
